Monday Night Raw
From The Blue Cross Arena
Rochester, NY - SOLD OUT

(The show opens with the standard Monday Night Raw intro package. Pyro hits as the camera pans around the sold-out HSBC Arena. MICHAEL COLE and JONATHAN COACHMAN are at the announce desk.)
MICHAEL COLE: Welcome everyone to a packed house here at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York for Monday Night Raw! Tonight is set to be an absolutely explosive night!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: That's right, Cole, the WWE Universe in Buffalo is fired up, and we've got a card loaded with incredible action and huge announcements!
(The camera stays on the announcers for a moment before the theme music of STEPHANIE MCMAHON hits. She walks confidently down the ramp and enters the ring, a microphone in hand.)
MICHAEL COLE: And kicking off the show, the boss herself, Stephanie McMahon!
COACHMAN: Stephanie certainly looks like she means business tonight.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: (Takes a deep breath, surveying the crowd) Welcome, everyone, to Monday Night Raw! Tonight, we have many questions that need answers, and we have issues that need to be addressed. After the chaotic events of last week, and honestly, the general attitude of some of the people in the back, it's clear that things need to be brought under control. And there is one man who seems to think he has the authority to do just that. So, I would like for him to come out here right now! Steve Austin!
(The crowd immediately starts to buzz. After a moment, the familiar sound of glass breaking hits the PA system! The arena explodes as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's theme song hits. Austin rides his ATV down the ramp, a cooler of beer strapped to the back. He parks it at ringside, grabs the cooler, slides into the ring, and immediately cracks open two beers, handing one to Stephanie, who looks less than pleased.)
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: (Takes the beer hesitantly) Thank you, Steve. You know, you’ve been strutting around here like you own the place, cracking beers, stunning people, and generally causing mayhem. Last week, I told you I didn’t want a "Sheriff" of Raw. But you said to hell with it and that you were laying down the law.
STEVE AUSTIN: (Takes a long gulp of beer) That's right. Stone Cold said it.
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: Well, if you're going to be the sheriff, Austin, I need you to be the sheriff! I need you to exert some actual control over this locker room! Things are getting out of hand! Umaga is running wild, Big Show is attacking people, DX is causing trouble…
STEVE AUSTIN: (Shrugs, takes another drink) Look, Stephanie, you want control? I hear ya. But let me tell you somethin'. The Wild West had sheriffs. It had marshals. And you know what it was still called? The Wild West! For a reason! Because you can’t completely tame somethin’ that’s inherently wild! These are professional wrestlers! They fight for a living! They’re gonna fight! You gotta let the fighter's fight! My job as the sheriff is just to make sure they don’t burn the whole damn town down!
(The crowd pops at Austin’s response.)
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: But they are burning the town down, Austin! Umaga nearly tore the backstage apart last week!
STEVE AUSTIN: And you think Stone Cold doesn't care about that? I care about one thing: the toughest son of a b**** standing tall at the end of the night! Let ‘em fight! That’s what they’re here for! That’s what the fans came to see! Now, if you’ll excuse me, this sheriff has some law enforcement… (He gestures to his beer) …to do.
(Austin finishes his beer and tosses the empty can over his shoulder. Stephanie looks exasperated but knows arguing further is pointless. Austin grabs another beer from the cooler.)
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: (Sighs) Fine, Austin. Have it your way. For now. But don’t come crying to me when this whole operation is in ruins.
(Stephanie leaves the ring, shaking her head. Austin stays in the ring, taking a swig of his new beer and offering one to the camera as we go to commercial.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Match One:
Hamada vs. Sumie Sakai
(Both women are in the ring after the break. Bobby Cruise introduces them.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Mexico City, Mexico, HAMADA!
BOBBY CRUISE: And her opponent, from Yokohama, Japan, SUMIE SAKAI!
(The bell rings. This is a fast-paced, hard-hitting match between two skilled competitors. Sakai uses her technical wrestling and submissions, while Hamada relies on her powerful strikes and high-flying offense.)
COLE: An excellent women’s match here to start us off. Both Hamada and Sumie Sakai are incredibly talented.
COACHMAN: Absolutely, Cole. You can see the experience and skill on display.
(Hamada hits a series of stiff kicks and a running elbow. Sakai counters with a sharp dropkick. The match is back and forth, but Hamada gains the upper hand. She hits the Hamada Driver (a spinning kneeling scoop slam)
COLE: Hamada Driver! This could be it!
(Hamada covers Sakai.)
REFEREE: ONE… TWO… THREE!
(The bell rings.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, HAMADA!
(Hamada’s music plays as she celebrates her victory. She helps Sakai up and they bow to each other in respect.)
(A cinematic video package plays. It shows EL PATRON and DR. WAGNER JR. with their families at what looks like an ancient Aztec temple. The atmosphere is respectful and ceremonial. Shots of them sharing food, laughing, and then looking serious as they shake hands. The voiceover is dramatic.)
VOICEOVER: For generations, our families have stood as pillars of strength and tradition. Now, two legacies unite. The blood of kings and the skill of legends merge as one. We break bread, we forge an alliance, and together… we will conquer.
(The final shot is El Patron and Dr. Wagner Jr. standing side-by-side in front of the temple, looking determined.)
EL PATRON (voiceover): The tag team titles… they are ours for the taking.
DR. WAGNER JR. (voiceover):Preparense!
(The video ends.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(MARC MERO, is in the ring, preening as LEX LUGER's music hits, and he comes out, looking confident. He enters the ring and stands next to Mero.)
MARC MERO: (Grabs a mic) You know, Buffalo, you are truly marvelous tonight! But not as marvelous as the man standing before you!
(Luger takes the mic from Mero, much to Mero’s annoyance.)
LEX LUGER: Thank you, Marc. Buffalo… it feels good to be home. You know, for years, I let people announce me as being from Chicago. It sounded cool, it sounded tough. But the truth is… I’m not from Chicago. I’m from right here! Buffalo, New York!
(The Buffalo crowd erupts in cheers for Luger’s admission.)
LEX LUGER: This is my true home! This is where I started! And standing here tonight, with my fellow Buffalonian, Marc Mero, I just wanted to be honest with all of you. We are the BUFFALO BROTHERS, and we will get back our Tag Team Titles!
(Suddenly, SID VICIOUS’s music hits! Sid storms down the ramp, looking absolutely livid.)
COLE: Uh oh. Here comes Sid!
COACHMAN: And he does NOT look happy!
SID: (Yelling as he gets into the ring) Oh, isn’t that just precious?! You guys are having a little heart-to-heart? Sharing secrets? How cute! You think you can just stand out here and have a kumbaya session after what happened at WrestleMania?!
(He points at Luger.)
SID: Luger! You think I forgot about you?! And you! (He points at Mero) You were just happy to sit back and watch, weren’t you?!
MARC MERO: Hey! He was just a friend trying to help out.
LEX LUGER: Sid, calm down.
SID: CALM DOWN?! Sid doesn’t calm down! Sid gets even! And I’m pissed! I’m pissed at you, Luger! I’m pissed at you, Mero! And I’m especially pissed at The Big Show! But since that overgrown freak isn’t here right now, I’m gonna take my anger out on you two! I’m challenging you both! Right here, right now! A Handicap Match! Me… against both of you!
(Luger and Mero look at each other, then back at Sid.)
LEX LUGER: Sid, that’s crazy!
SID: Is it?! Or are you just scared?! Well, fear is a powerful motivator! Now, are you gonna man up and accept the challenge, or are you gonna tuck your tails and run like the cowards I know you are?! Want to know who I am? I am the MASTER and the RULER of the world!
(The crowd chants "Match! Match!")
MARC MERO: (Hesitates, looks at Luger) I… uh…
LEX LUGER: (Sighs, looks at the crowd, then at Sid) Alright, Sid. You want a fight? You want the Buffalo Brothers? You got it. Handicap match accepted!
(Sid lets out a maniacal laugh as a referee slides into the ring.)
Match Two:
Sid vs. Lex Luger & Marc Mero (Handicap Match)
(The bell rings. Sid immediately attacks both men, using his size and power. He throws Mero out of the ring and focuses on Luger. It’s a struggle for Mero and Luger to work together, as Sid’s strength is overwhelming.)
COLE: Sid is just overpowering them, Coach! This is exactly what he wanted!
COACHMAN: Sid is a force of nature, Cole. Luger and Mero are going to have to work together perfectly to stand a chance.
(Luger and Mero manage to hit a double suplex on Sid. They take turns hitting him with strikes. Sid fights back, attempting a Powerbomb on Luger. As the referee is distracted by Mero, THE BIG SHOW appears at ringside! He discreetly reaches through the ropes and hits Sid with a devastating WMD Punch to the side of the head! Sid staggers, dazed.)
COLE: Wait a minute! Was that…?!
COACHMAN: It was Big Show! He hit Sid with the WMD!
(Luger, seeing Sid stunned, quickly hooks him for a Small Package! The referee turns and counts.)
REFEREE: ONE… TWO… THREE!
(The bell rings.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here are your winners, the team of MARC MERO and LEX LUGER!
(Mero and Luger quickly exit the ring as Sid is left bewildered, trying to figure out what happened. Big Show is nowhere to be seen.)
COLE: What a shocking ending! Big Show, after saying last week he was the most dominant giant, costing Sid the match!
COACHMAN: There’s no doubt about it, Cole. Big Show sent a message tonight!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(The camera cuts backstage. Chaos is erupting. UMAGA, is destroying everything in sight. He brutally attacks ULTIMO DRAGON, throwing him into a stack of crates. RICK STEINER tries to intervene, but Umaga easily overpowers the legendary Steiner, hitting him with a Samoan Drop onto concrete.)
(Officials and agents are trying to get the situation under control, but Umaga is just too powerful. He lets out a guttural roar as we cut away from the scene of destruction.)
(The camera cuts to a more formal backstage setting. BRUCE PRICHARD is standing at a podium with the WWE logo behind him.)
BRUCE PRICHARD: Good evening, everyone. As the Executive Producer of Monday Night Raw and representative of the WCFL, I understand the concerns about the recent chaos and the intensity of the rivalries developing here in WWE. To provide some clarity and direction, I am here tonight to officially announce our next pay-per-view event. On June 14th, from a location to be announced soon, WWE presents… Ascension!
(A graphic appears on the screen with the PPV logo: Ascension.)
BRUCE PRICHARD: And tonight, I am proud to announce several major matches that are already signed for Ascension:
(Graphics appear for each match as he announces them.)
BRUCE PRICHARD: First, D-Generation X will face the formidable force of Kane and The Undertaker for the WWE:RAW Tag Team Titles!
Next, in a battle of behemoths, Sid will collide with The Big Show!
Following the controversial finish at WrestleMania, Stephanie McMahon has sanctioned a definitive rematch: Trina Thompson versus Vanessa Kraven in a Last Woman Standing Match for the WWE:RAW Women's Championship!
Dr. Stevie Richards will put his peculiar methods to the test against the angry and focused Shawn Spears in his first defense of the WWE:RAW Junior Heavyweight Championship!
And finally, in our main event, the man who was brutally attacked last week, Goldberg, will challenge the new, destructive Heavyweight Champion, Umaga!
(The graphic for Umaga vs. Goldberg fills the screen.)
BRUCE PRICHARD: Ascension is shaping up to be an absolutely monumental event. Stay tuned for more information and match announcements in the coming weeks. Thank you.
(Prichard steps away from the podium.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Match Three:
Shawn Spears vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.
(SHAWN SPEARS makes his entrance, looking determined. CHAVO GUERRERO JR. follows, ready for the challenge.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, SHAWN SPEARS! And his opponent, CHAVO GUERRERO JR.!
(The bell rings. This is a competitive match. Spears uses his solid technical wrestling and aggression, while Chavo relies on his quickness and veteran skills.)
COLE: Shawn Spears has been laser-focused ever since his issues with Dr. Stevie Richards began.
COACHMAN: He’s definitely got a chip on his shoulder, Cole. You can see it in his intensity.
(Chavo hits a Frog Splash, but Spears kicks out at two. Spears fights back, hits a C4 (death valley driver) and gets the pinfall victory.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, SHAWN SPEARS!
(Spears gets up and looks directly at the camera, a serious look on his face. He points to his head, then to his heart.)
(The camera cuts to a backstage room. DR. STEVIE RICHARDS is sitting in a chair, wearing a lab coat. On the wall behind him is a framed, clearly fake degree labeled "Doctorate of Wrestling Psychology" from "The University of the Squared Circle." On the desk is the WWE:RAW Junior Heavyweight Championship and a chart on an easel with various psychological terms and diagrams.)
DR. STEVIE RICHARDS: (Adjusting his glasses) Ah, welcome. Please, have a seat. (He gestures to a non-existent chair). You see, the human mind is a fascinating, yet fragile thing. Especially the minds of those who step into my world. Take Shawn Spears, for example. A man riddled with psychological deficiencies. Anger issues, a persecution complex, an inability to cope with perceived injustice.
(He gestures to the chart.)
DR. STEVIE RICHARDS: This chart illustrates the complex web of his neuroses. His rigid thinking, his need for external validation… It’s all textbook. He thinks he’s in control, but he’s merely a puppet of his own fractured psyche. At Ascension, I won’t just defeat Shawn Spears physically. I will dismantle him, piece by piece, proving that the mind… is the most powerful weapon of all. And his… is weak. Very, very weak.
(He smirks disturbingly as the segment ends.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(The camera is outside STEPHANIE MCMAHON’s office. The door is slightly ajar, and we can hear her on the phone.)
STEPHANIE MCMAHON: (Into phone, stressed) Look, I understand the difficulty, but we NEED someone! Umaga is completely out of control! He’s already laid waste to half the backstage area tonight! He’s attacking anyone and everyone! If we don’t find a handler for him, someone who can exert some level of control, he’s going to end up destroying an entire arena! Find me someone and find them fast!
(She hangs up the phone, looking worried. The scene ends.)
Match Four:
Sterling James Keenan vs. DDP
(STERLING JAMES KEENAN makes his way to the ring, looking intense and focused on revenge. DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE follows, still riding the wave of his recent positivity and victories.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, STERLING JAMES KEENAN! And his opponent, DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE!
(The bell rings. DDP starts off strong, feeding off the crowd’s energy. Keenan is aggressive and technical, clearly fueled by his desire to prove himself.)
COLE: Sterling James Keenan has been obsessed with the Intercontinental championship picture and believes he was robbed by RVD.
COACHMAN: You can see that frustration in his eyes, Cole. He’s wrestling with a lot of anger tonight.
(DDP hits a spinebuster. He goes for the Diamond Cutter, but Keenan blocks it. The referee gets slightly distracted by Keenan arguing a call. Keenan quickly pulls a pair of brass knuckles out of his boot. As DDP turns around, Keenan nails him with a devastating shot with the brass knuckles!)
COLE: Oh no! Brass knuckles! The referee didn’t see it!
COACHMAN: That’s vintage Keenan! He’ll do anything to win!
(Keenan quickly discards the knuckles and covers DDP.)
REFEREE: ONE… TWO… THREE!
(The bell rings.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, STERLING JAMES KEENAN!
(Keenan gets up quickly, grabs his hand, and looks down at DDP with a look of twisted satisfaction. He raises his hand, implying the win was due to his "superior" technique.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(TERRI RUNNELS is standing backstage with THE BIG SHOW.)
TERRI RUNNELS: Big Show, tonight you interfered in the match between Sid and Lex Luger, hitting Sid with the WMD. Can you explain your actions?
BIG SHOW: Terri, look, I don’t hate Sid. Sid’s a veteran. He’s a powerhouse. But there’s only room for one dominant giant in WWE. And that spot… that spot belongs to me! I proved it tonight. Sid, you want to question my dominance? You’ll regret it.
(Suddenly, GOLDBERG, a man possessed, sprints past them down the corridor at full speed! He’s not looking at anyone or anything but his target. In the distance, we see UMAGA stalking. Goldberg reaches Umaga and with a full head of steam, spears him THROUGH a flimsy opened car door! Glass and metal crumple as Umaga is driven through it!)
COLE: (Voice over from the announce desk) OH MY GOD! GOLDBERG! He just speared Umaga through a car door!
COACHMAN: That was absolute destruction! Goldberg is not waiting for Ascension.
(Attendants backstage scream in fear as Umaga is laid out amidst the wreckage. Goldberg stands over him, roaring.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(A dark, somber video package plays. PAUL BEARER is standing in a dimly lit funeral parlor, surrounded by caskets.)
PAUL BEARER: (In his eerie voice) Ohhhhh, yeeesssss… Business is about to pick up. I hear the whispers, the talks of tag teams, of alliances forming. So many teams seeking greatness, seeking gold. And for every team that steps into that ring, there will be… consequences. There will be… casualties.
(He runs a hand over a casket.)
PAUL BEARER: My children, Kane and The Undertaker, they thrive on consequence. They feast on casualties. And for all these teams with their dreams of glory… I am stocking up. Buying gallons of embalming fluid. Because soon… business will be good. Very, very good. Ohhhhh yes.
(Bearer lets out his signature cackle as the video fades.)
Main Event:
X-Pac vs. Tommy Dreamer
(X-PAC makes his entrance to a good pop from the crowd. TOMMY DREAMER follows, getting a strong reaction for his hardcore legacy.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is your main event! Scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, X-PAC! And his opponent, TOMMY DREAMER!
(The bell rings. It’s a fast-paced match. X-Pac uses his martial arts strikes and high-flying moves. Dreamer uses his brawling and hardcore-inspired offense.)
COLE: An interesting main event here, Coach. X-Pac looking to make his mark tonight, and Tommy Dreamer, always a tough opponent.
COACHMAN: These two are giving it everything they’ve got!
(X-Pac hits a Bronco Buster in the corner. He sets up for the X-Factor. Suddenly, from the crowd, SCOTT HALL and KEVIN NASH jump the barricade and slide into the ring! They immediately attack X-Pac!)
COLE: It’s Hall and Nash! The Outsiders! They’re attacking X-Pac!
COACHMAN: I knew they were full of it! Those two when they have dues to be collected, they collect in full. They haven’t forgotten about X-Pac choosing DX over them!
(Hall and Nash are beating down X-Pac. The referee calls for the bell, ruling it a disqualification.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The winner of this match by disqualification, X-PAC!
(Dreamer, who was recovering in the corner, sees what’s happening. Despite the DQ, he’s clearly not happy about the interference. He gets up and starts attacking Hall and Nash, trying to make the save for X-Pac!)
COLE: Look at Dreamer! He didn’t like that one bit! He’s trying to fight off The Outsiders!
COACHMAN: Dreamer has always believed in earning it!
(Just as Dreamer is fighting Hall and Nash, D-GENERATION X’s music hits! SHAWN MICHAELS and TRIPLE H sprint down the ramp to even the odds!)
COLE: Here comes DX!
(DX hits the ring, and now it’s a three-on-two brawl between DX and The Outsiders! The fight spills out of the ring and up the entrance ramp!)
(As DX and The Outsiders are brawling near the top of the ramp, out of nowhere, UMAGA, looking enraged from the earlier attack, comes running out!)
COLE: UMAGA! THIS MAN WON'T STAY DOWN!!!
(Umaga hits Shawn Michaels with a devastating Samoan Spike! Michaels collapses. Umaga then turns and drills Triple H with a Samoan Spike as well! Triple H goes down! Umaga lets out a roar over the fallen DX members! He turns to face the stage, pounding his chest in triumph.)
(Suddenly, GOLDBERG, eyes burning with fury, comes storming onto the stage! He sees Umaga standing triumphant. Without hesitation, Goldberg charges at full speed and SPEARS UMAGA OFF THE SIDE OF THE ENTRANCE STAGE!)
COLE: SPEAR! SPEAR OFF THE STAGE! OH MY GOD!
COACHMAN: They both went off the stage! This is out of control!
(A sickening thud is heard. Referees and medical personnel immediately sprint to the side of the stage where Goldberg and Umaga fell. Chaos reigns as Hall and Nash have retreated and HBK and HHH are checking on X-Pac. The arena is stunned by the pandemonium.)
(Paramedics are quickly tending to Goldberg and Umaga at the bottom of the stage. STEPHANIE MCMAHON and "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN, looking genuinely shocked, run out from the backstage area and look over the edge of the stage.)
COLE: Look at the scene! Paramedics are down there! Stephanie and Austin are in shock!
COACHMAN: This is beyond anything I’ve ever seen!
(The camera focuses on Stephanie and Austin’s horrified faces as paramedics carefully load Umaga and then Goldberg onto stretchers. Umaga is strapped to a backboard, a neck brace on. Goldberg is barely conscious.)
COLE: Umaga and Goldberg… being wheeled out on stretchers… after that insane brawl!
COACHMAN: Ascension is going to be absolute war!
(Umaga and Goldberg are slowly wheeled away by paramedics. Stephanie and Austin stand at the edge of the stage, the chaotic aftermath of the main event unfolding below them. The show ends on the image of the two top stars being taken away in ambulances.)
[SHOW END]
