JONATHAN COACHMAN: Chavo is trying to bring some order to this match, but Dreamer thrives in chaos.
(The match is back and forth. Chavo hits a Frog Splash, but Dreamer kicks out at two. Dreamer hits a Spicoli Driver, but Chavo kicks out. Dreamer eventually hits a DDT on Chavo for the pinfall victory.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, TOMMY DREAMER!
(Dreamer grabs a microphone after the bell, still breathing heavily.)
TOMMY DREAMER: (His voice hoarse) You know, Chavo, that was a hell of a fight. And that's what the Anarchy Championship is all about! I'm the Anarchy Champion, and that means I will defend this title any time, any place, anywhere! All somebody's gotta do… is be man enough to step up!
(Dreamer raises his arm, holding the Anarchy Championship, as his music plays.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(The camera cuts backstage. KEVIN NASH is standing with SCOTT HALL, who is leaning against a wall.)
KEVIN NASH: Tonight, X-Pac… you think you're gonna walk out of Ottawa on two feet? You thought you were big time without us? Tonight, Big Sexy is gonna Powerbomb you through the damn ring! And then, at Ascension, me and Scott are gonna Powerbomb you and that entire little DX gang straight into obscurity!
SCOTT HALL: (Takes a toothpick out of his mouth) You know it, chico. The Bad Guy and Big Sexy are here to take out the trash.
(Suddenly, their screen is disrupted by a grainy, handheld video feed. It shows TRIPLE H, SHAWN MICHAELS, and X-PAC in the parking lot. They're gathered around a sleek, very expensive-looking black BMW.)
TRIPLE H: (Snickering) Well, well, well, boys. Look what we have here.
SHAWN MICHAELS: (Reading the personalized license plate) "KLIQ"? Oh, how vain! That’s just so… them.
X-PAC: You know what this means, right? They're finally showing their true colors. And guess what? So are we!
(X-Pac pulls out a can of green spray paint, Triple H pulls out another, and Shawn Michaels pulls out a third. They proceed to spray paint "DX" logos, crosses, and other graffiti all over the pristine black BMW, laughing maniacally as they do. The Kliq in the backstage area watch in furious disbelief.)
KEVIN NASH: (Roaring with anger) YOU SONS OF BIT—!
(The video feed cuts out abruptly as Nash lunges forward, furious. Hall shakes his head, a mixture of rage and slight amusement on his face.)
Match Two: Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Patron vs. Rick Steiner & Barry Horowitz
(The teams are in the ring. BOBBY CRUISE makes the introductions.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is a tag team match! Introducing first, the team of RICK STEINER and BARRY HOROWITZ! And their opponents, the team of DR. WAGNER JR. and EL PATRON!
(Referee Brian Hebner is in charge. The bell rings. Steiner and Horowitz try to use their veteran cunning. Rick Steiner brings the power, and Horowitz tries to sneak in quick pins. However, El Patron and Dr. Wagner Jr. display their impressive Lucha Libre skills and seamless tag teamwork. They isolate Horowitz, working him over with quick tags and high-impact maneuvers.)
MICHAEL COLE: El Patron and Dr. Wagner Jr. are on a roll, Coach. They're looking like true contenders for those Tag Team Titles. They can be next in line after the triple threat at Ascension.
JONATHAN COACHMAN: They certainly have lit a fire under themselves!
(El Patron hits a backstabber on Horowitz. Dr. Wagner Jr. follows up with a diving headbutt. El Patron then locks in the Cross Armbreaker on Horowitz, who quickly taps out.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here are your winners, DR. WAGNER JR. and EL PATRON!
(Wagner and El Patron celebrate their victory, sending a clear message to the Tag Team Division.)

WWE:RAW Presents ASCENSION!
June 14th, 2005 IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN
GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!
(The camera cuts to a dark, smoky backstage area. Suddenly, the eerie gong sounds, and THE UNDERTAKER and KANE mysteriously materialize from the shadows, accompanied by PAUL BEARER. Bearer holds the urn tightly.)
PAUL BEARER: (His voice echoing eerily) Ohhhhh, yeeesssss… Many foolish mortals interpret silence as weakness. They believe that if my Sons of Darkness, the Brothers of Destruction do not thunder their intentions from the rooftops, then they are somehow don't see what is going on at Raw. They are mistaken!
(Undertaker and Kane stand silently, their eyes fixed forward, their immense presence filling the screen.)
PAUL BEARER: My Brothers of Destruction do not need to speak loudly for the world to know who they are. They do not need to boast. Their actions, their very existence, speak volumes! For they are the ultimate arbiters of pain! They are the destroyers of dreams! They are the ultimate grave diggers of the WWE! And at Ascension, they will dig three more graves! For D-Generation X… and for The Kliq! Ohhhhh yes!
(Bearer clutches the urn tighter, his sinister chuckle filling the air as the camera fades to black.)
Match Three: Shawn Spears vs. PJ Black
(SHAWN SPEARS makes his entrance, looking intense. PJ BLACK is already in the ring, stepping in for his second match of the night after an earlier loss.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, SHAWN SPEARS! And his opponent, PJ BLACK!
(Referee Mike Chioda is in charge. The bell rings. Spears immediately takes control, working with a focused aggression. PJ Black tries to use his agility, but Spears's intensity is overwhelming. Spears hits a few hard strikes and then a C4 (Death Valley driver).)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, SHAWN SPEARS!
(Spears immediately grabs a microphone from Bobby Cruise. He then goes to ringside and grabs a small, cheap diploma frame that he brought with him, clearly from a dollar store. He steps back into the ring.)
SHAWN SPEARS: Dr. Stevie Richards! You think you're so smart?! You think that piece of paper on your wall makes you a "doctor"?! Let me tell you something! This! (He holds up the dollar store diploma frame) This diploma frame from the dollar store, it holds just as much legitimacy as your alleged "doctorate of wrestling psychology"!
(Spears raises the frame high, then smashes it over his knee.)
SHAWN SPEARS: At Ascension, I'm not just going to defeat you, Stevie! I'm going to end your medical practice! Permanently! And then I'm going to send you the bill for your "in-office visit" — the one where I kick your teeth down your throat!
(Spears throws the broken frame pieces out of the ring, looking menacing.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(DDP's music hits, and DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE makes his way to the ring, looking energized despite The Purge match still having lingering effects.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Please welcome, the winner of The Purge, DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE!
(DDP takes a microphone, soaking in the crowd's energy.)
DDP: (Voice raspy but confident) BANG! Ottawa, you're looking good tonight! And so am I! Two weeks ago we had a Purge! And I walked out the last man standing. And because of that, I earned a shot at the Heavyweight Championship, the night after Ascension! Then the week right after, Sterling James Keenan thought he could steal the opportunity away from me but I put him down and out for the count again.
(The crowd cheers.)
DDP: Now, at Ascension, you've got Goldberg versus Umaga. Two absolute monsters. Two human wrecking machines. Goldberg, I know the power of that Spear, I felt it at WrestleMania. And Umaga? He's a wild animal, a Samoan Bulldozer, leaving destruction in his wake. Both men are one-track minds: move forward, destroy. They are dangerous. They are massive.
(DDP smiles, a knowing look in his eyes.)
DDP: But I've got the answer. I’ve got the counter. I’ve got the equalizer. And it comes… out of nowhere! All I need… is one Diamond Cutter! And whether it’s Goldberg… or whether it’s Umaga… that Heavyweight Championship is coming home with me! Feel the Bang!
(DDP flexes and does his signature "Diamond Cutter" hand gesture as his music plays.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Match Four: Lex Luger vs. PJ Black
(LEX LUGER's music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. PJ BLACK, accompanied by Looney Lane, follows.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, "The Total Package" LEX LUGER! And his opponent, PJ BLACK!
(Referee Brian Hebner is in charge. The bell rings. Black tries to use his speed and Lane's distractions, while Luger relies on his power and size advantage. It's a competitive match, with Black avoiding Luger's power moves and trying to frustrate him.)
MICHAEL COLE: Luger's power is undeniable, but PJ Black has Looney Lane on his side, always looking for an advantage.
JONATHAN COACHMAN: Lane is definitely a distraction, Cole, but Luger needs to stay focused on the man in the ring.
(Luger eventually catches Black attempting a flurry of punches, hits a powerful clothesline, and then locks in the Torture Rack. Black struggles for a moment and Looney Lane jumps into the ring and jumps on Luger who is able to keep the rack on. Black lets out one last scream before submitting.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, LEX LUGER!
(Luger celebrates his victory, looking strong heading into Ascension.)
(A gritty, shaky video package plays. STERLING JAMES KEENAN is in what looks like a dark, seedy alleyway, surrounded by graffiti-covered walls. He holds a rusty metal pipe.)
STERLING JAMES KEENAN: (Voice low and menacing) They think they know me. They think they know what I'm about. RVD, that whole "positive vibes" garbage. He thinks he’s got me figured out. He thinks he's just gonna come to Ascension and hit his little Frog Splash.
(Keenan drags the pipe against a brick wall, creating a harsh scraping sound.)
STERLING JAMES KEENAN: The Intercontinental Championship is mine. It was stolen from me. And at Ascension, I'm taking it. And that’s just the beginning. I will get my opportunity for the Heavyweight Championship and become the first and only double champion in WWE:RAW history. RVD, you better be ready, because I'm coming for everything. And I'm taking it all.
(Keenan smiles unsettlingly as the video fades to black.)
(The camera is backstage with TERRI RUNNELS, now interviewing ROB VAN DAM.)
TERRI RUNNELS: RVD, Sterling James Keenan just made some bold claims about becoming a double champion. Your thoughts?
ROB VAN DAM: (Shakes his head slowly) Sterling James Keenan. You know, he thinks the world is against him. He thinks everyone's out to get him. But really, he's just a failure. He's always going to find a reason why he's not good enough. He’s gonna fail at Ascension, just like he always does.
(RVD takes a moment, then looks intently into the camera.)
ROB VAN DAM: He says he was screwed out of the Intercontinental Title. He says he was screwed out of the number one contender spot. He could have both and still find something wrong. Still find something to complain about. Well, Sterling, I’m gonna give you a level playing field. I just spoke to Steve Austin. He loves chaos, you know?
(RVD grins.)
ROB VAN DAM: So at Ascension, you don't need to try and sneak those brass knuckles or metal pipes. Bring 'em. Because our match at Ascension… it’s going to be Extreme Rules. And then we'll see who the real failure is.
(RVD gives his signature thumbs-up gesture and walks off.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK

MICHAEL COLE: Sumie Sakai looking very sharp tonight, heading into her Number One Contender's match with Hamada at Ascension.
JONATHAN COACHMAN: She's got a lot to prove in that match, Cole.
(Sakai eventually hits a spinning heel kick, then locks in an armbar submission. Kara Slice taps out.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, SUMIE SAKAI!
(Sakai celebrates, looking focused on her upcoming Ascension match.)
(The camera cuts backstage to a dimly lit hallway. VANESSA KRAVEN is found lying on the ground, clearly in pain, groaning. Medics rush to her side. Suddenly, TRINA THOMPSON casually walks into the frame, holding a long, metal pipe. She stops over Kraven's prone form.)
TRINA THOMPSON: (Calmly, but with a cold menace in her voice) One… Two… Three… Four… Five… Six… Seven… Eight… Nine… Ten!
(Trina Thompson lowers the pipe slightly, then gestures to Kraven's body.)
TRINA THOMPSON: At Ascension, the result will be the same. Last Woman Standing and the championship comes back home where it rightfully belongs.
(Trina Thompson drops the pipe next to Kraven and walks away, leaving the medics to tend to the injured Kraven, who is clutching her ribs.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Match Six: Hamada vs. Lexie Fyfe
(HAMADA makes her entrance. LEXIE FYFE is already in the ring.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is a women's match! Introducing first, HAMADA! And her opponent, LEXIE FYFE!
(Referee Brian Hebner is in charge. The bell rings. Hamada is aggressive from the start, utilizing powerful strikes and quick maneuvers. Lexie Fyfe tries to mount some offense, but Hamada is too strong and fast.)
MICHAEL COLE: Hamada is looking dominant tonight, preparing for her big match at Ascension against Sumie Sakai! Both are at the top of their game which they need to be here on Monday Night Raw!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: Absolutely right! Both got a lot of momentum right now, Cole. The way Kraven and Thompson have been brutalizing each other, they could be ripe for the picking for either Sakai or Hamada.
(Hamada hits a stiff superkick, followed by the Hamada Driver for the decisive victory.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, HAMADA!
(Hamada celebrates, then looks directly into the camera, a stern expression on her face, signaling her readiness for Ascension.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(BRUCE PRICHARD, the Executive Producer and WCFL Representative, stands in the center of the ring with a microphone. Two digital scales are set up on either side of him.)
BRUCE PRICHARD: Ladies and gentlemen, please direct your attention to the ring. As Executive Producer of Monday Night Raw, I'm here tonight to officiate the official height and weigh-in for one of our biggest matches at Ascension. The battle of the giants!
(BIG SHOW's music hits, and he comes out to a mixed reaction. He steps onto his scale. SID's music hits, and he storms out to a loud, volatile reaction. He steps onto his scale.)
BRUCE PRICHARD: Weighing in first, at 485 pounds, THE BIG SHOW! And his opponent, weighing in at 317 pounds, SID!
BIG SHOW: (Grabs a mic, a smug grin on his face) Look at this, Sid! Just look at it! 485 pounds! And you? A measly 317! I told you last week, there's only one giant in WWE! And I'm looking at him! You're not even in my league, little man! You're nowhere near my size!
(Sid glares at Big Show, his eyes wide and furious. He suddenly drops his microphone and attacks Big Show, lunging with punches! Big Show stumbles but doesn't go down. Sid tries to hook Big Show for a Chokeslam, but Big Show is too massive! Sid strains, unable to lift him!)
MICHAEL COLE: Sid's attacking! He's trying to Chokeslam Big Show!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: He can't get him up, Cole! Big Show is too big!
(Big Show shoves Sid away, then grabs him by the throat. Big Show easily lifts Sid up for a massive Chokeslam! Sid crashes to the mat! Big Show then steps over Sid and delivers a devastating WMD Punch right to Sid's jaw! Sid's eyes roll back, and he's out cold.)
BRUCE PRICHARD: (Stepping back quickly) OH WHAT THE HELL!
(Big Show stands over the prone Sid, letting out a roar of dominance. He kicks Sid's body once, then glares down at him as his music plays. Referees and medical staff rush to check on Sid.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Match Seven: Kevin Nash vs. X-Pac
(KEVIN NASH's music hits, and he makes his way to the ring, a menacing look on his face. X-PAC's music hits, and he comes out, looking determined but battered.)
BOBBY CRUISE: The following contest is your main event! Scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, KEVIN NASH! And his opponent, X-PAC!
(Referee Mike Chioda is in charge. The bell rings. Nash immediately asserts his size and power, throwing X-Pac around. X-Pac uses his speed and agility to try and outmaneuver Nash, hitting quick strikes and trying to wear down the big man. Nash dominates much of the match, but X-Pac gets in bursts of offense.)
MICHAEL COLE: This is exactly what Nash wanted, Coach! A chance to get his hands on X-Pac before Ascension!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: X-Pac is giving it his all, but Nash is just too big and powerful.
(Nash eventually catches X-Pac attempting a spinning heel kick, then lifts him up for a Powerbomb. Nash hits the Jackknife Powerbomb!)
(Nash covers X-Pac.)
CHIODA: ONE… TWO… THREE!
(The bell rings.)
BOBBY CRUISE: Here is your winner, KEVIN NASH!
(Nash stands over X-Pac. Suddenly, SCOTT HALL rushes down the ramp! He slides into the ring, and they both glare at the downed X-Pac.)
MICHAEL COLE: Hall is here! They're going to double-team him!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: Where is DX?!
(Hall and Nash grab X-Pac. They hoist him up and deliver a brutal double Powerbomb! But they don't stop there. They drag X-Pac to the ringside area, near the announce table. They then Powerbomb him again, this time through the announce table! The table shatters, and X-Pac crashes through it!)
MICHAEL COLE: My God! Through the announce table!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: X-Pac is annihilated!
(Suddenly, TRIPLE H and SHAWN MICHAELS sprint down the ramp! They rush the ring, chairs in hand, looking for revenge for their fallen friend! But by the time they reach ringside, Hall and Nash have already fled through the crowd, laughing at DX's failed save attempt. Triple H and Shawn Michaels look down at the wreckage of X-Pac and the announce table, furious.)
COMMERCIAL BREAK
(The camera cuts back to the ring. BRET HART's music hits, and he slowly makes his way out, followed by the imposing HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, UMAGA. Bret holds a microphone.)
BRET HART: (His voice cold and deliberate) You know, I told you last week. I told you Goldberg was a coward. I told you he was broken. He refused medical attention, he hid like the little baby he is, and he never showed his face in public after what Umaga did to him.
(The crowd boos.)
BRET HART: And tonight, here we are! I told you he wouldn't show up! I told you he was too soft! He's too embarrassed, too weak to face the man who destroyed his pathetic career! So, to the McMahon-Austin administration, to the WWE Universe, I say: the match at Ascension, the Heavyweight Championship match, should be awarded to Umaga right now! Goldberg has forfeited!
(Bret turns to Umaga, nodding. Umaga raises his fists, looking ready to leave, when suddenly, GOLDBERG'S music hits! The pyro explodes on the stage! The crowd roars! But still, Goldberg doesn't appear on the stage.)
MICHAEL COLE: Goldberg's music! Is he here?!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: He's not on the stage! They already swerved us once!
(Umaga immediately stiffens, looking agitated, scanning the entrance ramp. Bret Hart stands calmly, a smirk on his face.)
BRET HART: (Chuckles, a cold, mocking laugh) Hahahahahaha! Look at him! Look at Umaga! Conditioned like a dog! He hears that music, and he's ready to attack! It's Pavlovian! All this proves is that Goldberg is still a coward who won't take ownership for ruining MY LIFE! I, however, will take ownership and pleasure of ruining his.
(Bret starts to turn, gesturing for Umaga to follow him out of the ring, confident that Goldberg is not present. But just as they turn to leave, GOLDBERG bursts out from the CROWD! He's a man possessed, leaping over the barricade and charging straight for Umaga!)
MICHAEL COLE: GOLDBERG! HE'S HERE! HE CAME THROUGH THE CROWD!
JONATHAN COACHMAN:He's ambushing Umaga!
(Goldberg spears Umaga! Umaga goes down! Goldberg immediately pounces on him, raining down punches! Bret Hart, startled, grabs a steel chair from ringside. He swings it with all his might, hitting Goldberg directly on the back! The chair shot makes a sickening thud!)
MICHAEL COLE: Bret Hart with the chair shot!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: Goldberg felt that!
(Goldberg barely flinches! He slowly turns, his eyes burning with an intense rage, now fixed on Bret Hart! Bret's eyes widen in fear as Goldberg takes a step towards him. As Goldberg is distracted by Bret, Umaga, who had just gotten to his knees, quickly rises and drills Goldberg with a devastating Samoan Spike! Goldberg's eyes roll back, and he stumbles backward, collapsing onto the entrance ramp, blood beginning to trickle from his mouth!)
MICHAEL COLE: Samoan Spike! Umaga got him! Goldberg is down and bleeding!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: What a brutal attack! Umaga might have ruptured an artery in Goldberg's neck!
(Umaga stands over the fallen, bleeding Goldberg, letting out savage, triumphant screams. Bret Hart, relieved, stands next to Umaga, a wicked smile on his face, both celebrating their victory. But as they begin to walk away, a truly terrifying sight occurs.)
(Goldberg, blood dripping from his mouth, slowly, painfully, begins to push himself up! He wipes the blood from his lips with the back of his hand, his eyes still burning. He gets to his feet, a silent, seething beast.)
MICHAEL COLE: He’s getting up! Goldberg is getting up!
JONATHAN COACHMAN: Unbelievable! He’s still coming!
(Goldberg takes a step forward, then another, then charges! Umaga and Bret Hart, seeing Goldberg get up, turn and quickly flee to the back, terrified! Goldberg chases them, a bloody, unstoppable force.)
(The camera holds on Goldberg chasing Umaga and Bret Hart to the back, his mouth still bloody, as the show fades to black.)
[SHOW END]
